GOODRICH, Charles Rush, naturalist, born in Troy, New York, 16 March, 1829 ; died in Flushing, New York, 22 August, 1855. He was graduated at Yale in 1849, and studied medicine, but never practiced, becoming a chemist and naturalist. He edited, with Professor Benjamin Silliman, Jr., "The World of Science, Art, and Industry," illustrated with 500 drawings from the New York exhibition of 1853 (New York, 1854), and was one of the editors of "Practical Science and Mechanism" (1854).
