GRANT, Clement Rollins, artist, born in Freeport, Maine, 10 July, 1849. At the age of eighteen he went to Europe, spending some months in study and observation in Great Britain and France, and on his return established a studio in Boston and became a member of the Boston art club. His specialty is landscape and portrait painting. Among his pictures are "Amy Wentworth," an illustration of Whittier's poem, "Marguerita"; "O for the Touch of a Vanished Itand": " Delusions of the Past, 1692," which was exhibited in 1878; "A Normandy Fisherwoman" ; and "CEnone."
