JUARROS, Domingo (war'-ross), Central American historian, born in the city of Guatemala in 1752; died there in 1820. He had access to ecclesiastical and government records, and, as a result of his researches, published "Historia de la ciudad de Guatemala" (2 vols., Guatemala, 1808-'18; abridged English translation. London, 1823; new ed., Guatemala, 1857). This is in reality a history of Central America. The first volume treats of geography, settlements, church topics, and the history of Guatemala city the second of the ancient records of the country, its conquest and settlement.
