Edwin Jacob

JACOB, Edwin, Canadian educator, born in Gloucestershire, England, in 1794; died in Cardigan, York County, New Brunswick, 31 July, 1868. He studied in Lincoln college, Oxford, was ordained in Gloucester cathedral, emigrated to New Brunswick, and was principal and professor of classics at King's college from 1828 till 1860. The degree of D. D. was conferred on him by Oxford university. He published a volume of sermons.
