BUTLER, Frederick, author, born about 1766; died in 1843. He was graduated at Yale in 1785, and became a resident of Hartford, Connecticut He published " History of the United States to 1820" (3 vols., Hartford, 1821); "The Farmer's Manual" (Wethersfield, Connecticut, 1821); and "Memoirs of Lafayette and his Tour in the United States," with plates (Wethersfield, 1825).
