Gaspard Van Baerle, Or Barlaeus

BAERLE, or BARLAEUS, Gaspard van, Dutch author, born in Antwerp in 1584 ; died in 1648. He was professor of philosophy and theology in Leyden (1617) and Amsterdam (1631). His works are: " Poemata Epistolae" (2 vols.), and " Rerum ill Brasilia gestarom Historia" (Amsterdam, 1647).
