George Glentworth

GLENTWORTH, George, physician, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 22 July, 1735" died there, 4 November, 1792. He was graduated at the University of Edinburgh in 1758. During the last French war in America he was a surgeon in the British army. In 1777 he served as surgeon of a regiment, and afterward was appointed senior surgeon in the continental army, and became director-general of hospitals for the middle division.
