Henry G. Evans

EVANS, Henry G., journalist, born in 1812; died in Brooklyn, New York, 14 August 1869. He was coeditor and proprietor of the New York "Evening Mirror" almost from the beginning of its career to its close, and was one of the best writers for the daily press in the City. About fifteen years previous to his death the publication of the "Mirror" was discontinued, and he engaged in mercantile business, in which he maintained a high reputation.
