DAY, Henry Wright, Canadian physician, born in the township of Kingston, 6 September 1831. He was educated at Newburg academy, and at Queen's university, Kingston, being graduated M. D. in 1859. He began practice ill Trenton, and in 1869 was elected a member of the council of physicians and surgeons of Ontario for the Quint6 and Cataraqui districts. He has also been president of the council of the College of physicians and surgeons of Ontario. When the first Fenian raid occurred, in 1866, he organized a battery of garrison artillery. He was the first mayor of Trenton, and has been president of the provisional board of directors of the Central Ontario railway.
