James Gilborne Lyons

LYONS, James Gilborne, poet, born in England; died in Haverford, Pennsylvania, 2 , January, 1868. He entered the ministry of the Church of England, and in 1844 came to this country, and was rector of St. Mary's church, Burlington, New Jersey In 1846 he removed to Philadelphia, where he taught, and later he became principal of a classical school in Haverford, near that city, remaining there until his death. He published " Christian Songs, Translations, and other Poems" (Philadelphia., 1861).
