YEO, James, Canadian member of parliament, born in Porthill, Prince Edward island, 31 October, 1832. He is the son of James, who came from Devonshire, England, in 1827, and who was a member of the Prince Edward island assembly for thirty years. The son is a merchant, ship-builder, and ship-owner; was a representative in the Prince Edward island assembly and a member of the executive council for several years previous to 1872, when the province entered the confederation, He was elected to the Dominion parliament in 1872, and re-elected in 1874, 1878, 1882, and 1887.
