EAMES, Jane Anthony, author, born in Wellington (now Dighton), Massachusetts, 21 January 1816. She is a sister of the late Henry B. Anthony, and was graduated at the young ladies' high school in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1839 she married the Rev. James H. Eames, who was for many years rector of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Concord, New Hampshire, and died in 1877. She has traveled extensively in Europe and the east, and has published "A Budget of Letters " (Boston, 1847); " My Mother's Jewel" (New York, 1850); " The Christmas Gift" (1851); "Sarah Barry" (1852); " Home" (1853); " Another Budget " (Boston, 1854), and " The Budget Closed" (1864); and has compiled memorials of her father, Hezekiah Anthony (1885), and of the Rev. Dr. Eames (1878).
