John Craig

CRAIG, John, philanthropist, born in Goffstown, New Hampshire, in 1797; died in Rochester, New York, 19 July, 1872. He was educated in his native town and became a successful business man, amassing a large fortune by his habits of industry and integrity. Besides giving liberally during his lifetime, he bequeathed sums amounting to $105,000 to various Universalist educational institutions.
