FLAGG, John Foster Brewster, physician, born in Boston, Massachusetts, 12 Nay, 1804 ; died in West Chester, Pa.. 8 September 1872. He was educated in his native City, and received the degree of N. D. from the Rhode Island medical society. Between 1850 and 1860 he was professor of anatomy and physiology in the Philadelphia College of dentistry, and subsequently held a chair in the Pennsylvania College of dental surgery. He is the author of a standard work entitled "Ether and Chloroform, their Employment in Surgery, Dentistry, Midwifery, etc. " (Philadelphia, 1851).
