John Hamilton

HAMILTON, John, Canadian merchant, born near Quebec, Canada, in 1827; died in Montreal, 3 April, 1887. He was educated in Montreal, and became a member of the firm of Hamilton Brothers, lumber merchants. Mr. Hamilton was warden of the counties of Prescott and Russell for three years. He represented Inkerman in the legislative council of Canada from 1860 until the union, when he was called to the senate.
