John Vining

VINING, John, senator, born in Dover, Delaware, 23 December, 1758; died there in February, 1802. He was a member of the Continental congress from 1784 till 1786, and was elected to the 1st Federal congress as the only representative from Delaware, and reelected for another term, serving from 6 May, 1789, till 2 March, 1793. He was then sent to the United States senate, taking his seat on 2 December, 1793, and serving till 6 March, 1798, when he resigned.
