Jose Maria Bustamante

BUSTAMANTE, Jose Maria, Mexican composer, born in Toluca in March, 1777; died in 1861. He received a scientific education, but his real vocation was music. He was chapel-master of the cathedral, as well as of many other churches of the City of Mexico, and left a large number of compositions, mostly religious, in their music libraries. Bustamante also composed several special orchestrations for Italian operas.
