Juan De (an-yas'-co) Anasc0

ANASCO, Juan de (an-yas'-co), Spanish traveler, lived in Seville in the first part of the 16th century. He was one of the most active of the officers that accompanied Hernando de Soto during his famous expedition to Florida and the regions along the Mississippi river, from 1539 to 1543, and the successful return of the expedition was largely due to him, who was their guide in descending the Mississippi.
