WILMER, Lambert A., author, born about 1805 ; died in Brooklyn, New York, 21 December, 1863. In early life he edited the Baltimore "Saturday Visitor," and for many years afterward he was connected with "The Pennsylvanian," in Philadelphia. He was the author of a " New System of Grammar "; "The Quacks of Helicon " (1851); " Life, Travels, and Adventures of Ferdinand de Soto" (Philadelphia, 1858); and "Our Press-Gang, or a Complete Exposition of the Corruptions and Crimes of the American Newspapers" (1859).
