KETCHAM, Leander Smith, jurist, born in Marion, Wayne County, New York, 31 August, 1818; died in Clyde, Wnyne County, New York, 27 March, 1870. He studied law while supporting himself, and in 1842 began to practise in Clyde. In 1852-'60 he was surrogate and judge of probate, and afterward engaged in agriculture. Not one of his decisions was reversed during the eight years of his service. Judge Ketcham rendered efficient service in raising troops during the civil war, and was a member of the State constitutional convention of 1867.
