JONES, Leonard Augustus, author, born in Templeton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, 13 January. 1832 He was graduated at Harvard in 1855, and at the Harvard law school in 1858, and has since practised in Boston. He is the editor of the "American Law Review," has written extensively for literary periodicals, and is the author of "A Treatise on the Law of Mortgages of Real Property" (2 vols., Boston, 1878); "A Treatise oil the Law of Railroads and Other Corporate Securities" (1879); "A Treatise on the Law of Mortgages of Personal Property" (1881); "Pledges, including Collateral Securities" (1883); "Forms in Conveyancing" (1886): and "An Index to Legal Periodical Literature" (1887).
