Levin Winder

WINDER, Levin, governor of Maryland, born in 1756; died in Baltimore, Maryland, 7 July, 1819. He was appointed major of the 4th Maryland regiment, and before the close of the Revolutionary war attained the rank of lieutenant-colonel. Subsequently he became a brigadier-general of the Maryland militia, fie also was speaker of the house of delegates, and in 1816 was a member of the state senate.
