Lucius Halen Bugbee

BUGBEE, Lucius Halen, educator, born in Gowanda, New York, 25 November, 1830. He was graduated at Amherst in 1854, became a teacher, was ordained a minister in the Methodist Episcopal church, and was principal of Fayette seminary, Iowa, in 1857-'60, pastor of a church in Chicago, Illinois, in 1861-'3, president of the Northwestern female College at Evanstown, Illinois, in 1865-'8, of Cincinnati Wesleyan College in 1868-'75, and afterward of Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania
