Nancy Maria Hyde

HYDE, Nancy Maria, educator, born in Norwich, Connecticut, 21 March, 1792; died there, 28 March, 1816. She was for many years a teacher in Norwich, and excelled in painting and embroidery, Her writings, with a memoir by her friend and neighbor, Miss Huntley, afterward Mrs. Lydia H. Sigourney, whose first book had appeared the year before, were published after Miss Hyde's death (Norwich, 1816).
