LA BRUERE, Pierre Boucher de, Canadian journalist, born in St. Hyacinthe, 5 July, 1837. He was educated in his native town, and became prothonotary of the superior court for the district of St. Hyacinthe, but resigned in 1875 to become editor" of the "Courrier de St. Hyacinthe." He was afterward a member of the executive council, and speaker of the legislative council of Quebec, 4 March, 1882. He is the author of the pamphlets "Le Canada sous la domination Anglaise" and " History of St. Hyacinthe."
