Robert Allen

ALLEN, Robert, soldier, born in Augusta County, Virginia, in 1777; died near Carthage, Tennessee, 19 August 1844. He was a merchant, and after settling in Carthage about 1804 became clerk of the county court. In the war of 1812 he served with distinction as a colonel under Jackson. From 1819 till 1827 he was a member of congress.
