TAYLOR, Robert William, physician, born in London, England, 11 August, 1842. He was graduated at the College of physicians and surgeons, New York, in 1868, and has made a specialty of the treatment of syphilis, skin diseases, and genitourinary diseases. For three years he was professor of diseases of the skin in the Women's medical college in New York city, and then he was called to a similar chair in the medical department of the University of Vermont. He is one of the surgeons of the venereal department of the Charity hospital, and physician to the department of skin diseases in Bellevue hospital dispensary, and for six years he was surgeon to the department of venereal and skin diseases of the New York dispensary. Dr. Taylor is a member of medical societies at home and abroad, was president of the Dermatological society of New York, and has been vice-president of the American dermatological association. His contributions to medical journals, chiefly in the line of his specialty, include about twenty papers.
