Thomas Ford

FORD, Thomas, governor of Illinois, died in Peoria, Illinois, in January 1851. His parents immigrated to Illinois in 1804, when he was a child, and he became a successful lawyer there, and was active in politics almost from the organization of the state, he was judge of the state Supreme Court, and governor in 1842'6. He published a "History of Illinois from 1818 to 1847" (Chicago, 1854).
