Victor Collot

COLLOT, Victor, French explorer, born in Cha-lons-sur-Marne about 1751; died in Paris in July, 1805. He was an officer in the army, rose to be a general of brigade, and was at one time governor of Guadeloupe. He published a map of Detroit in 1796, also " Voyage darts le nord d'Amerique en 1796," and a " Memoire sur les moyens de sou-mettre les rebels de St. Dominique."
