BODISCO, Waldemar de, born in Russia.; died at Jordan Alum Springs, Virginia, 31 July 1878. He came to this country at an early age with his uncle, the Russian minister at Washington, and was graduated at Georgetown College. For nearly twenty years he was secretary of the Russian legation at Washington, in 1866 and 1869 acted as charge d'affaires, and was appointed Russian consul-general at New York in 1871, holding that office at the time of his death.
