HYDE, William De Witt, educator, born in Winchendon, Massachusetts, 23 September, 1858. He was graduated at Harvard in 1879, and at Andover theological seminary in 1882. in 1.883 he became pastor of the Congregational church in Paterson, New Jersey, and in 1885 was elected president of Bowdoin, and professor of mental and moral philosophy there. He has been a contributor to reviews.
