BOGART, William Henry, author, born in Albany, New York, 28 November 1810. His early life was passed in Albany, his later at Aurora, New York He wrote a life of Daniel Boone and "Who Goes There?" a book of historical reminiscences; but his chief work was done as the "Sentinel " correspondent of the New York " Comier and Enquirer," and the New York "World," in reviving the taste for American antiquarian history, especially of the colonial period of New York. He contributed a monograph on Cornelius and William It. Vanderbilt to the "New York Genealogical and Biographical Record" for April l886.
